BMW E87 118i 2006 in limp mode with valvetronic error showing up on obd

Hello everyone,

I was driving 2km from home when my car went into limp mode all of a sudden.
I just hooked up the obd scanner and read it, it showed me 3 or 4 valvetronic errors.

after resetting the errors it felt and sounded like it was running on 2 or 3 cilinders, then after turning it off and on again it went into limp mode again. Edit: Might be a good guess that it is indeed the valvetronic motor since it cant control the valves well?

My question is, is it a safe bet to replace the valvetronic motor or can it also be something else?

Thanks a bunch in advance!
